The center currently has projects concerning alternative energy,
environmental, and analytical chemistry.
The center lends assistance and resources to individual projects and provides solutions to chemical related problems for central Missouri communities. The current focus of thecenter is on alternative energy topics and analytical support of central Missouri constituents including small business and agriculture. The center collaborates with the Institute of Entrepreneurial Studies & Development (IESD) on the UCM campus and serves as a consultant for several area companies.
As part of its mission the center plans to disseminate information to the community when possible to enhance technical and economic opportunities in the region.
In this regard, the center is working with academic, government and business partners to increase the technical and scientific support for central Missouri.
The CAFES welcomes Dr. Georgi Popov (assistant professor UCM) as the head of the new Environmental and Air Quality Assessment Unit.
